Stop the proposed access road through Meadow Rise's green corridor and Linear Park.
We are not opposed to new housing at Newbiggin Hall, we are opposed to routing construction and through traffic along residential streets and the wildlife corridor.
Persimmon Homes has proposed a development of up to 240 homes on land at Newbiggin Hall, off the A696/Ponteland Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. We are not opposed to new housing on this site.
We are opposed to the proposed access route: an extension of Malthouse Way between Elsing Close and Oulton Close. This would run construction and through traffic along residential streets that weren't designed for it, and cut through the green corridor connecting Newbiggin Dene, the Linear Park and Bluebell Dene, a wildlife corridor recognised in the Council's own adopted planning policy.
We're asking residents to add their voice while the application is being prepared, so decision-makers hear community concerns early.
